Are the platforms for research only?

Do payloads have to be for research? I am interested in using the cubelab platform to to host industrial and marketing projects. Is that allowed? What are the restricitions?

From the perspective of the National Lab Office, the only restriction is that you meet safety and interface requirements for flight to and operations on-board the ISS. NanoRacks will help you with those. Commercial technology development projects are certainly encouraged.
