Derek Hodgins is Nanoracks SVP of Business Development and joined the team in January 2023. Prior to joining Nanoracks, Derek led Lockheed Martin’s integrated strategy efforts across its diverse Commercial Civil Space enterprise of human and robotic exploration, space infrastructure, and advanced enabling technologies. In this role, Derek also directed the formulation of LM’s Lunar Mobility Vehicle (LMV).

Previously, Derek was Director of Business Development for Human Exploration and Operations at Orbital ATK and Northrop Grumman. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of NG’s human efforts from Low Earth Orbit to Deep-Space, including Cygnus Commercial ISS Resupply, NASA’s Gateway Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO), Commercial LEO, and other space communications and transportation systems.

Prior to joining Orbital ATK, Mr. Hodgins led Strategic Investments Division planning of Human Exploration and Space Technology at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., served as a Flight Controller in Mission Control for the Space Shuttle, and as a Systems Engineer on numerous NASA robotic spacecraft.

Mr. Hodgins holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University, an M.E. in Space Systems Engineering from The University of Michigan, and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.
